Disposable EEG Electrode Compatible BIS Bilateral Sensor Ref186-0212

Disposable EEG Electrode Compatible BIS Bilateral Sensor is used to assess the depth of anesthesia (BIS score) and the synchrony of function between the two cerebral hemispheres; its core function is to simultaneously record EEG signals from the left and right frontal lobes.

    Core Definitions and Principles

    1. BIS (Bispectral Index): By analyzing characteristics such as the frequency and phase of EEG signals, it outputs a quantified value ranging from 0 to 100 (0 indicates no brain activity; 100 indicates full consciousness), guiding the precise titration of anesthetics;

    2. Bilateral Design: Symmetrically positioned on the forehead, it simultaneously acquires signals from the left and right frontal lobes, enabling the detection of interhemispheric EEG differences (e.g., stroke, traumatic brain injury, or effects of unilateral anesthesia);

    3. Single-use, adhesive-based design requiring no complex preparation.

    Key Advantages

    1. Enables early detection of unilateral brain dysfunction, preventing critical issues from being overlooked when relying solely on unilateral monitoring;

    2. Quick to install, low-impedance, and stable; resists electrosurgical artifact during surgery, making it suitable for prolonged procedures;

    3. Non-invasive and single-use, reducing the risk of cross-infection;

    4. Particularly valuable for patients under TIVA (total intravenous anesthesia), where end-tidal concentration cannot be used to monitor anesthesia depth.

    Indications

    1. Neurosurgery (e.g., intracranial tumor resection, cerebral vascular bypass);

    2. Cardiac surgery (where cardiopulmonary bypass may cause asymmetric cerebral perfusion);

    3. Trauma/intensive care, to assess functional recovery in the affected hemisphere following brain injury;

    4. Complex anesthesia management (obese, elderly, or hemodynamically unstable patients)

    Precautions for Use

    1. Apply the electrodes symmetrically to the forehead. Clean the skin and ensure that the electrodes make full contact with the skin.

    2. Do not rely on this device alone as the sole basis for anesthesia or brain function diagnosis; use it in conjunction with clinical signs for a comprehensive assessment.

    3. Avoid using on broken or inflamed skin.

    4. Ease of Use: Rapid inflation and deflation enhance nursing efficiency.
