How To Use ECG Cables

The ECG lead wires, also known as ECG cable assemblies, are medical devices used in conjunction with monitors and electrocardiographs. They connect the instruments to body surface electrodes for transmitting human electrophysiological signals. Composed of device plugs, main cables, connectors, and lead wires, they differentiate between American and European standard leads by color and markings (e.g., RA white, LA black), suitable for 3-lead, 5-lead, and 12-lead monitoring scenarios. Proper connection to corresponding electrode positions is required during use. Avoid use in MRI environments. Clean with specified reagents like 2% glutaraldehyde; do not immerse or use alcohol. Compliant with ANSI/AAMI standards, clinically applied for ECG signal acquisition and monitoring.
 
1、Select appropriate ECG cables and lead wires based on patient type; use ECG adapter cables for interface mismatches.
2、Inspect cables and lead wires before use; discontinue use if damaged or deteriorated.
3、Prohibit use during MRI scans to prevent burns from induced currents.

4、Keep away from electrosurgical equipment power sources; anti-electrosurgical cables are not for respiratory measurement.
5、Ensure electrodes and connectors do not contact conductive materials during connection.
6、Position electrodes correctly, match lead wire markings, and dispose of as per regulations.
